It seems that SCDDB uses two methods of alphabetic ordering. Nothing wrong, but Why?? See this example:
Using the "complex dance search" to find all 138 Hugh Foss dances, the list begins with

A M Shinnie
Airie Bennan
Alister McAlister
Anne
Auchencairn

The list of all 138 Hugh Foss dances on the Hugh Foss page "dances" tab begins with

Airie Bennan
Alister McAlister
A M Shinnie
Anne
Auchencairn
